The Gunners are looking to bring Neymar

The Gunners have reportedly been told it is not impossible to bring in Neymar this summer, as Mikel Arteta continues to work on recruiting a new striker. Arsenal is keen on a new forward after growing frustrated with the performances of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah and have already missed out on top target Benjamin Sesko this summer.

Amid rumours linking names such as Rodrygo, Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, Serhou Guirassy and Johan Bakayoko, a new name has emerged on the Arsenal striker's wanted list. The star Brazilian striker Neymar is currently pursuing his career in Saudi Arabia after seven seasons with Paris Saint-German, but a serious knee injury has restricted the Brazilian to just five appearances and scoring one goal in his first season.

But former Arsenal captain, and fellow Brazilian, Gilberto Silva, believes Neymar can be lured back to Europe and, in particular, the Emirates Stadium, just a year after his £76 million move to Saudi Arabia. "I would love to see Neymar in the Premier League with Arsenal," Silva said. "It will bring a lot of excitement to the fans and make the competition even more special."

This is Neymar's first year away from Europe since joining Barcelona in 2013, but at 32 years old, he still has a lot to offer. Silva then felt that Neymar suited the glitter and intensity offered by the Premier League, according to him, players of his class are playing in the best league in the world today. "When you look at the Premier League, we want to see the best players in the world, and to have him here would be great. "We'll see. It's not impossible that he could join Arsenal, why not."

Neymar has previously been a prolific goalscorer, particularly during his time at Barcelona. However, he has often played in a wider role, rather than as a number 9, which may not suit Mikel Arteta. At the start of his career, Neymar opened the door to moving to England and said that the Premier League was his favourite league. "The Premier League is a league that fascinates me. I like the style of play and the teams. And who knows? One day, I want to play there," said Neymar.

"I admire Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, they are teams that always fight there."
