Mukesh never dreamed of playing Cricket during his childhood
Ind T20 League 2022: Chennai’s Mukesh Chaudhary discloses he never dreamed of playing cricket as a kid
After producing a match winning spell against Mumbai, Chennai’s left arm pacer Mukesh Chaudhary revealed that he never thought he would take cricket as a profession during his childhood. Mukesh’s triple strike and MS Dhoni’s quickfire 28 provided reigning champions with their second win of the tournament as they defeated Rohit and co at the DY Patil Stadium.
Unnecessary to mention, Choudhary was happy with his performance as he went down the memory lane and recalled his adversities. “I never thought I’d play cricket. Was at boarding school in Pune, we had an hour’s sports period and I used to play all kinds of sports there. Tried playing cricket and seemed to be good at it,” said the budding young pacer at the post-match presentation.
“Have to bowl well in the powerplay where I’m supposed to bowl three overs. There is no pressure actually, to play with such big players around you automatically takes all the pressure away. I just want to have a good time and enjoy myself,” he added.
Chaudhary’s three-fer included the key wickets of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Dewald Brevis. One mustn’t forget that Chaudhary is getting chances because Deepak Chahar isn’t available. The 25 year old struggled initially but is gradually starting to find his feet and we wish him the very best for the remainder of the event.
