Mumbai franchise owner Akash Ambani reacts to their Top Buys of Ind T20 League Auction 2024
The five-time Ind T20 League champions Mumbai have had one of the most depressing seasons in the 2024 edition of the tournament. They finished in 8th place on the points table out of 10 spots. Yet, according to the owner, Akash Ambani, who has already reserved 12 players, has arrived at the 2025 auction to gather an ideal squad to turn the tables.
The Mumbai franchise owner expressed that they are happy with their present status. Many players have been bought, and some were taken by using the Right to Match (RTM) card.
“Very happy at this position because we have got our playing 12 locked in now. Happy with all the players we have gotten till now. Of course, disappointed to lose so many ex-Mumbai players. In the last three years, we’ve thought a lot about the balance that we truly need to get back to winning ways, and for that, you had to balance the emotional aspect of buying players and the skills required in this new T20 game. Very, very disappointed to miss out on many ex-Mumbai players who have given us a lot of success; all the best to all of them for their new franchises, but also happy with what we have achieved at Mumbai,” Akash said.
The franchise, after the 2025 auction, has the likes of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Robin Minz, Ryan Rickelton, Will Jacks, Shrijith Krishnan, Bevan John Jacobs, and N. Tilak Varma as their batters.
The all-rounding lineup contains Naman Dhir, Karn Sharma, Mitchell Santner, Rajgandha Bawa, Arjun Tendulkar, Vignesh Puthurm, and Hardik Pandya.
The bowling lineup includes Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Allah Ghazanfar, Ashwani Kumar, Reece Topley, Venkata Satyanarayana Penmetsa, Lizaad Williams, and Jasprit Bumrah.
