Man Utd's Luke Shaw to miss Premier League games

The Red Devils might have received bad news again. Most recently, they are now in danger of being left out of Luke Shaw due to a muscle injury and the possibility of taking a long time to recover.

Man United will meet Nottingham Forest in the third week of the Premier League 2023/24. The duel between the two teams will be held at Old Trafford, on Saturday (26/8/2023). Shaw has played 90 minutes in the Red Devils' only two Premier League games this season, in the narrow win over Wolves and 2-0 loss at home to Tottenham on Sunday. However, The Athletic reported that the 28-year-old will miss the home game against Nottingham Forest and next week's game against Arsenal. Shaw's muscle injury news was reported in Man United's official statement on Thursday local time and this news made Erik Ten Hag absurdly dizzy.

"Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw, has suffered an injury that will keep him out of action for the next few matches," said Man United's official release. "The muscle problem is still being investigated but the England left-back is expected to be out for a few weeks." The ex-Southampton man has picked up a muscle problem and although expected to be out for just a few weeks, not months, he will not feature again until the international break. The Red Devils are scheduled to visit the Emirates on September 3 while Shaw is scheduled to play in England's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine a few days later, as well as a friendly against Scotland.

However, the defender will not be available for those games and even his participation against Brighton after the international break is now in doubt. Although United's medical team hope the matter is not too serious, the extent of the problem is still being assessed. Normally Tyrell Malacia would replace Shaw, but the Dutchman is still recovering from the injury he picked up last season, with Ten Hag saying it will take time for the youngster to make a comeback. He was not included in the squad for the matches against Wolves or Tottenham, it seems that the Dutch coach will prepare Diogo Dalot as a left-back.
