Manchester United outcast offered a lifeline?

Jadon Sancho has apparently been offered a new escable route from Manchester United, after Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund snubbed their interest.

The forward, who struggled during his stint as a Manchester United player after moving to the Premier League in 2021, has faced certain challenges under Dutch boss Erik Ten Hag. The head coach banished Sancho from the first team squad after a public fallout in September, suggesting transfer speculations in January.

As per Bild, RB Leipzig has shown interest and are considering a move for the right winger in January.

However, Leipzig are reluctant to pay Sancho’s yearly wage of  £17 million and the figure could present a challenge to any potential move.  Juventus and Barcelona are also keeping close tabs on Sancho’s situation but it is highly unlikely that they would agree to his wage demands unless he agrees to take a huge pay cut.

Recent reports disclosed that United’s football director, John Murtough, explored interest form Saudi Pro clubs for many of his players including Sancho, Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Casemiro but no deals were finalised during John’s trip to Saudi.

Sancho last played for United back in August during a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest. Following the hard fought win he took to social media to respond to Ten Hag’s comments claiming that he (Sancho) was being made a “scapegoat”. Instantly after his remarks, the 23 year old was banished by the boss. Although the former Ajax coach has insisted that he is willing to welcome him with open hands if he offers an apology, offloading the player is allegedly a priority for the English club in the coming winter transfer window.
