Christchurch, Wellington and Hamilton to host ENG Tests

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) have set forth a detailed itinerary for the three match Test series against the three lions, scheduled to commence the Black Caps’ home summer subsequently this year.

The series opener will be played on November 28 at the Hagley Oval before the teams move to Cello Basin Reserve, Wellington for the second test that begins from December. The final match of the series is slated to be played at Seddon Park, Hamilton from December 14.

The Kiwis are also expected to host Sri Lanka and Pakistan later in the summer while the White Ferns will be hosting Tasman rivals Australia and Sri Lanka.

New Zealand’s last test series at home against the Kangaroos created a lot of buzz and hype and NZC chief executive Scott Weenink was seemingly thrilled at this development and hopes to synthesise on this situation

“In the past, there's often been a lot of talk in New Zealand about the popularity of Test cricket - without that translating into ticket sales or viewership numbers," said Weenink.

"The difference over the past summer, and in terms of the upcoming Tests against England, is that the interest is being converted to bums on seats and is driving record viewership numbers.

"We're looking forward to that continuing over the upcoming summer, and to welcoming the England team and their fans to the Tests, and of course all the Kiwi-based supporters as well."
