Islamabad United (ISL) and Peshawar Zalmi (PES) will lock horns in match 13 of this season’s Pakistan T20 League on February 26 (Monday) at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. ISL and PES currently occupy fourth and fifth position, respectively, on the points table. 

ISL started their 2024 campaign with a win over Lahore Qalandars (LAH), but have suffered back to back losses against the Multan Sultans (MUL) and Quetta Gladiators (QUE). They will now look to get their campaign back on track against PES. 

Agha Salman and Shadab Khan have been ISL’s best players this season so far. Salman has been their leading run scorer with 149 runs in three innings. Khan on the other hand has put in significant contributions with both bat and ball in hand. As one of the finest all rounders in the tournament and the United skipper, he could be in for another stellar show here against PES. He will rely on his express pacer, Naseem Shah, to provide him with timely scalps. Shah has already picked five wickets this season. 

PES shrugged off back to back losses to Quetta Gladiators (QUE) and Karachi Kings (KAR) by defeating Multan Sultans (MUL) in their most recent clash. They’ll have a tough outing against LAH on Sunday and, amidst a rapid tournament, meet ISL on Monday. They’re in for an intriguing couple of days. 

Babar Azam has been at the top of batting charts this season. The champion batter has collected 171 runs in three innings. He has nearly 100 more runs than any other PES batsman this season. Expect another impressive performance from this mercurial talent. 

Luke Wood and Salman Irshad have combined to take 10 wickets in total for PES this season. They are bowling well individually and in tandem.
