Chelsea flogged the toffees by 6-0 following a penalty grab incident

The penalty grab incident slightly disrupted Chelsea's big win over Everton. The Blues defeated the visiting team with a landslide score of 6-0 in the 33rd week of the 2023/2024 Premier League duel on Monday(15th April 2024) while Playing at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea was certainly more favoured than the Visitors Everton. Even so, no one expected that 16th-placed Everton to play far below their level. Half a dozen goals were scored by Chelsea and four of them were scored by Cole Palmer (13', 18', 29', 64'), then the remaining two goals were scored by Nicolas Jackson (44') and Alfie Gilchrist (90') which completed scattered the Visitors.

This victory was important for Chelsea to continue trying to improve their position in the temporary Premier League standings. Unfortunately, Blues fans were angered by the attitude of several players in fighting over penalties. This case occurred in the 61st minute when Madueke accelerated into the penalty box but was then brought down by Tarkowski. The referee immediately pointed to the spot, a clear violation and the problem happened after that. Chelsea's main penalty-taker was the star of the match Cole Palmer, Mauricio Pochettino has repeatedly emphasized that.

However, when Palmer carried the ball, two other Chelsea players tried to grab it and asked for a chance to kick. The two were Nicolas Jackson and Madueke. This incident looked disappointing because the three players were involved in pushing each other. Madueke and Jackson seemed determined to ask for the ball from Palmer, even though in the end they weren't given the chance. The penalty opportunity was finally executed by Palmer himself and he did his job perfectly, and the penalty goal completed the English striker's quattrick record. "I am a penalty taker, I wanted to do it, so I took the opportunity," said the 21-year-old striker. "Indeed, all the players want to take responsibility for this. In the end, we laughed and joked about the incident, but the manager has spoken firmly about this case."
