Pat Cummins is ruled out of the T20 Season following a hip injury!

The test captain of the Australian side and the dependable all-rounder of the Kolkata franchise, Pat Cummins has been ruled out for the remainder of the T20 season. In Kolkata’s last match against Mumbai, Cummins played a role of a leader and picked up three wickets in his four overs and changed the game for the purple and gold brigade. With the season coming to an end, the duo of Southee and Cummins could have proved vital as the Knights are still in the race to qualify for the Playoffs.

According to initial reports, the speedster will miss cricket for a couple of weeks and will also skip the white ball series against Sri Lanka. He will be back for the test side when Australia will take on the Lankans for a couple of tests at Galle from 29th of June.

Cummins has played five games this season and has taken eight wickets. Against Mumbai, he also became the joint fastest fifty in the history of the tournament. Kolkata would have loved to keep the speedster with them till the end of the season but Cummins decided to give himself some rest with the T20 World Series around the corner. Will Kolkata miss Cummins to a great extent? Probably not!
