Hyderabad sign Pat Cummins for a whopping INR 20.50 crore

Australia’s World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins became the first player in the history of Ind T20 League auction to breach the INR 20 crore mark as Hyderabad edged a frenzied battle with Bangalore to acquire the services of the ace speedster for a colossal INR 20 crores.

The 30 year old has had an incredible year in which he has led Australia to World Cup glory, World Test Championship crown and even a drawn away Ashes series. Cummins, though, has an ordinary record in the Indian T20 League, having claimed 45 wickets from 42 matches at an economy of 8.54.

Hyderabad, who also bought another recent WC winner in Travis Head for INR 6.8 crores, headed the bidding war for Cummins only at the INR 8 crores mark after Mumbai and Chennai had made efforts to sign the pace bowler. Hyderabad remained steadfast and emerged victorious over Bangalore, garnering applause from the spectators as the bidding soared to a staggering INR 20 crores.
