Pau Cubarsi received 10 stitches on his face during the UCL clash against Red Star Belgrade.

Pau Cubarsi was one of the victims behind Barcelona's victory. The 17-year-old talented young star had to receive 10 stitches on his face, after receiving a hard kick from his opponent on the right side of his face on Thursday, November 7, 2024, when Barcelona visited Red Star Belgrade at the Red Star Stadium on matchday 4 of the 2024/2025 Champions League. The Visitors won with a landslide score of 5-2, another impressive performance from Hansi Flick's squad.

The centre-back Cubarsi had an incident when he dared to chase the ball in the second half but was kicked in the face and fell. His teammates immediately called the medical team to provide quick treatment to the young player. The Spanish player's injury looked quite serious, so he was unable to continue the match. Barca defender was even seen covered in blood as he left the pitch, although the good news was that he was able to walk off without the need for a stretcher. Sergi Dominguez then came on as his replacement for the remainder of the game.

Pau Cubarsi was immediately taken to the dressing room with the medical team after the incident with the facial injury he suffered. According to Mundo Deportivo, the 17-year-old player had to receive 10 stitches to close the wound. Although the moment was quite terrifying for Cubarsi, there is good news that he has received treatment and it is hoped that his condition will improve. Barcelona coach Hansi Flick also provided a positive update on the Cubans' form following their 5-2 win over the Serbian club.

"Cubarsi is fine, he just has a scar. He is young and will recover quickly," the 59-year-old head coach told reporters. Current La Liga table toppers Barcelona will now monitor Cubarsi's condition further to determine the extent of the injury and whether he will be available for the weekend's trip to Real Sociedad in La Liga.

The match against Real Sociedad will be Barcelona's last match before the last international break in 2024.
