Vlahovic's goal helped Juve to settle the scoreline 1-1 with Bologna

Paul Pogba returns to taste the atmosphere of an official match with Juve. The French midfielder played when the Hosts Juventus drew 1-1 against Bologna in the second week of Serie A 2023-2024. The 30-year-old Pogba received a warm welcome when he returned to play at the Allianz Stadium, on Sunday (27/8/2023). Since returning to Juventus last year, Pogba has had more injuries.

He was brought back from Manchester United in the summer of 2022, Pogba made just six appearances for the Bianconeri in Serie A last season. Even Pogba himself was absent from the French national team during the 2022 World Cup. At that time, the attacking midfielder had just undergone surgery in September. Against Bologna, Pogba was included in the Juventus player list. But the 30-year-old player was on the bench. Coach Massimiliano Allegri just put Pogba in the second half and precisely in the 66th minute he was replaced by Nicolo Fagioli.

"I'm really happy to be back playing, doing what I love," he told to a media person. "I want to help the team, but I'm disappointed with the result of the match. I feel we should have won," Pogba added. "The positive is that we didn't lose. We know we have to work hard and gain experience. We received this one point and we are working again for the next game." As previously mentioned, last season Pogba only played six times for Juventus.

Once a starter, five times came as a substitute with a total of minutes played only 108 minutes. And returning to play after a long tussle with injuries makes Pogba happy. And he admitted, after that difficult time he wanted to continue to get playing minutes so he could return to his best performance. "I need game time, I need to train and get a chance to get on the court. That's what I miss," he added.

"I'm fit and want a real comeback, am just as hungry as when I started here when I was young," he added. "I want to work hard and win, can still learn, I'm only 30 years old and want to give the fans the joy of winning and coming to the stadium to see us win." After a 1-1 draw against Bologna, Juventus will next face Empoli in the 2023-2024 Serie A continuation on September 3.
