Perth Stadium set to make Ashes debut

The Australian Ashes for the first time in nearly decades will begin at a ground other than the iconic Gabba. The Perth Stadium in Western Australia is slated to host its maiden Ashes duel when England comes touring for the first Test of the series in the 2025-26 Australia summer, announced Cricket Australia on Wednesday.

The Perth Stadium will only become the eighth venue to host an Ashes encounter. The opening test will begin on November 21. The match at Perth, a city where England have previously won only one, will be followed by a day-night Test at Gabba in Brisbane, starting December 4.

Having hosted Pakistan(2016) and Sri Lanka (2019), the second test at Gabba will be Brisbane’s third day-night men’s test.

The third Test will be played at the Adelaide Oval, followed by the Boxing Day test at the MCG and the New Year’s test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The Ashes 2025-25 schedule:

First Test: November 21-25, 2025, Perth Stadium

Second Test: December 4-8, 2025, The Gabba (D/N)

Third Test: December 17-21, 2025, Adelaide Oval

Fourth Test: December 26-30, 2025, MCG

Fifth Test: January 4-8, 2026, SCG
