After Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore registered their place in the playoffs, the fourth position is for grabs with 4 teams still in the race. The defending champions, Mumbai are 7^th in the league courtesy to their poor form in the middle while Rajasthan kept their hopes alive even after losing some big names before the second half of the Indian t20 league kicked off.

Rajasthan are 6^th in the table with 10 points with their NRR in negatives. In order to qualify for the playoffs, both Rajasthan and Mumbai needs to improve their run rate because not only Kolkata is a step ahead with 12 points but also has a better run rate than the other teams competing for the spot. Now, by the history of the league, we pretty much know that if one team who’s not afraid of Mumbai is Rajasthan. The boys in pink and blue always seem to find a way to defeat the five times champions. However, tables have turned in the recent times. On the other hand, nothing is really working out for Mumbai. Even after having a star studded team, Mumbai is failing miserably. With four loses in five games in UAE, Mumbai needs to seek some help from Rajasthan and Kolkata in order to qualify for the playoffs. First they need to win both their matches against Rajasthan and Sunrisers. Secondly, they need to keep an eye on Rajasthan vs Kolkata fixture and expect Rajasthan to get the better of Morgan’s side. Finally, they need to depend on the NRR. If all these fall in place, Mumbai will qualify for the playoffs.
