Rishabh Pant provokes Kuldeep Yadav to get out in laughable stump-mic exchange
India B beat India A by a margin of 76 runs in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match in Bengaluru. Rishabh Pant participated in his first red-ball tournament after a long time citing his past injuries.
The 26-year-old was excellent behind the stumps and also accumulated 61 runs for India B in the second innings. The Southpaw was optimistic with the gloves and was involved in a hilarious exchange of words with his India and Delhi franchise teammate Kuldeep Yadav.
Kuldeep came in as the mid-order batter for India A., Pant tried his best to unsettle his compatriot on the 4th day of the contest. In a mocking discussion with his teammate, Pant openly discussed the plan to take the spinner’s wicket. On the other side, Kuldeep being very aware of Pant’s tactics, responded to him.
“Let him take a single and I have a play to dismiss him,” Pant said. “It is ok man. Don’t take tension,” Kuldeep replied.
“Then get out early,” Pant further expressed.
Previously, Pant joined India A’s team meeting to know the plans of their rivals when Shubman Gill was speaking to his players. Avesh Khan, who noticed him shared a laugh among themselves. Avesh played alongside the keeper-batter during his time for the Delhi franchise in the Indian T20 League.
Notably, Pant will represent Team India for the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. This will be his first dead rubber match for the Indian Cricket Team after one year.
