Pretoria Capitals will square off against Paarl Royals at the SuperSport Park at Centurion on Friday, January 17. 

PC’s last game against Joburg Super Kings was called off due to rain. The Rilee Rossouw-led Capitals have played four matches so far, sharing one win and one loss, with two games cancelled due to rain. They are now sitting in third place in the points table. They defeated the two-time champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape in their last match by a margin of six wickets. While bowling first, PC restricted Aiden Markram and co. to just 113 runs in total. Daryn Dupavillon picked up three wickets, while Eathan Bosch, James Nisham, and Senuran Muthusamy took two apiece to restrict the opponents to a low-scoring total. Later, Pretoria covered the score in just 16 overs with six wickets to spare. Marques Ackerman top-scored for the side, remaining unbeaten at 39 runs off 30 balls. 

On the contrary, the Paarl Royals have won two matches and have lost one so far. With four points, they occupy the fourth spot in the league standings. The David Miller-led side defeated MI Cape Town by 6 wickets in their previous match. MICT posted 158 runs batting first. Mujeeb ur Rahman was the only bowler to take two wickets for Paarl. Lhuan-dre Pretorius shined with 83 runs off just 52 balls to lead his team to victory with six wickets and one over to spare.

Match Prediction

Pretoria Capitals were considered the most dominant side in the SA Premier League 2023. Although they failed to defeat the Sunrisers in the 2023 season's final, the performance of their batters and bowlers was impressive. However, in the absence of Anrich Nortje, they are seemingly a bit shaky at the moment, which makes us feel that the Paarl Royals will manage to win this game.
