Paarl Royals will face off against Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the second qualifier match of the ongoing SA Premier League 2025. The game is set to take place at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Thursday, February 6. Led by David Miller, Paarl is currently struggling after losing to MI Cape Town in Qualifier-1 by 39 runs. In contrast, Aiden Markram and his team are very close to clinching their third consecutive title, having defeated Joburg Super Kings by 32 runs in the Eliminator round.

Paarl is encountering challenges with middle-order support, as David Miller and Dinesh Karthik are the only players in form. In the first Qualifier, Paarl entered the match with back-to-back losses in their last two group-stage games. MICT batted first, posting a score of 199 runs with just a four-wicket loss. Despite valiant efforts from David Miller (45) and Dinesh Karthik (31) in the second innings, Paarl was dismissed for only 160 runs. They now need better strategies if they hope to reach the finals by defeating the two-time champions.

The Eastern Cape side is on a quest to win their third SA Premier League title and is just a couple of wins away from making history. In their last game against JSK, skipper Aiden Markram led from the front, contributing 62* runs to help the team achieve a total of 184 runs in 20 overs. Later, their bowlers, including Craig Overton, Liam Dawson, and Ottneil Baartman, each picked up two wickets, restricting JSK to a score of 152 for 7.

The SA Premier League 2025 Qualifier 2 will be held at Centurion's SuperSport Park. As in the past, the ground is suitable for batting in the early overs. The surface provides a decent pace and bounce, motivating the batters to play their signature cricketing shots. It also has large boundaries, which benefit the bowlers.
