'I have never seen a better innings than in my career'- Shaheen Afridi on Virat Kohli's 82* against Pakistan   

Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Afridi recently described Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 82 at MCG against Pakistan in the 2022 World T20 League as the best innings he has ever witnessed. 

Kohli’s knock not only guided India to a memorable victory but also left an enduring impression on cricket fans and players. 

During the Super 12 fixture at the 2022 World T20 League, India were reeling at 31/4 while chasing a target of 160 against arch-rivals Pakistan. 

The pressure was huge, and India’s chances of emerging victorious seemed slim. Kohli, recognised for his resolve and ability to perform under pressure was put to the test and boy he passed it with flying colours. Partnering with Hardik Pandya, Kohli led India’s resurgence. 

Kohli scored 82 off just 53 runs and played some unbelievable shots, especially during the back end. His back-to-back sixes off Haris Rauf in the penultimate over was the decisive point, which shifted momentum in the chasing team’s favour. As a result, India won the game by four wickets. 

Shaheen Afridi, who was a part of that match, could not hide his praise for Kohli’s genius. 

"Virat Kohli's 82 at the MCG was the best innings I have ever seen," Afridi said via Star Sports.

Kohli’s innings are now considered one of the greatest in the World T20 League history.
