West Indies whitewashed South Africa in a 3-match T20I

The hosts West Indies whitewashed South Africa in a 3-match T20I series on Wednesday(28th August), making it 3-0. Almost like the first and second T20I, the Men in Maroon defeated the Men in Green in the third match as well. Rain interfered in the game played at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, due to which the math was reduced to 13 overs each side.

After winning the toss, the Host WI decided to bowl, which proved right for them. Batting first, South Africa scored 108 runs for 4 wickets in 13 overs. Tristan Stubbs scored the highest individual innings for Proteas in that match, scoring 40 runs in 15 balls, in which he hit 5 fours and 3 sixes. During this, Windies skipper Romario Shepherd took the maximum of 2 wickets for his side.

Chasing the target of 109 runs, West Indies scored 116/2 runs in 9.2 overs with 22 balls to spare. The right-handed batter Shai Hope, who opened the innings for Windies, played a brilliant innings and scored 42* runs in 24 balls with the help of 1 four and 4 sixes. Apart from him, the left-handed Nicholas Pooran scored 35 runs in 13 balls at a strike rate of 269.23, which included 2 fours and 4 sixes and a finishing touch completed by Shimron Hetmyer. The southpaw batter Hetmyer scored 31* runs in 17 balls at a strike rate of 182.35, in which he hit 4 fours and 1 six. 

South African bowlers appeared to be a complete flop while hedging the target of 109 runs. The right-arm pacer Ottneil Baartman and Bjorn Fortuin took 1-1 wickets for the team. Baartman conceded 32 runs in 2 overs at an economy of 16, while Fortuin gave away 8 runs in 1 over. Kwena Maphaka was the most expensive bowler, who leaked 34 runs in 2 overs at an economy of 17. As a result, the Windies dominated the Visitors throughout the T20I series and sealed it 3-0.
