Shubman to rejoin IND squad but remains uncertain for PAK clash
Shubman Gill set to rejoin the team but remains doubtful for the PAK Clash
Shubman Gill will rejoin the Indian squad in Ahemdabad but uncertainty remains over his selection for the Pakistan clash on October 14 as he recovers from dengue.
Gill did not travel with the squad for India’s second fixture against Afghanistan on Wednesday, after missing India’s tournament opener against Australia on October 8. He was rushed to the hospital in Chennai on October 8 for treatment but was subsequently discharged as his health improved.
Gill is doing absolutely fine and is set to leave Chennai for Ahmedabad today," a Indian Cricket Board official told PTI. "It is still not clear whether Gill will have a light training session at Motera on Thursday. His recovery has been fine but can't really be sure if he can play against Pakistan."
Ishan Kishan opened the innings along with Rohit for India in Gill’s absence against Australia. Despite being reduced to 2 for 3 in a chase of 200- Kishan, Rohit and Shreyas Iyer departed without troubling the scorers- they made a remarkable comeback to hunt down 200 with six wickets in hand.
Gill is the leading run scorer in ODIs this calendar year with 1230 runs to his name. The right handed batter has smashed two centuries and a half century in his last four ODIs.
