Suryakumar set to join Mumbai on April 5

Suryakumar Yadav is set to return to Ind T20 League action very soon. It is learnt that he has been cleared by the National Cricket Academy and will be available with his franchise Mumbai on Friday (April 5).

The ace T20I batter last played a competitive game in December 2023, when he scored a ton in the third T20I against the Proteas. However, he suffered a grade 2 ankle tear in that series for which he required surgery.

Suryakumar subsequently underwent an operation for sports hernia, which further delayed his return to cricket as his rehabilitation continued at the NCA facility, Bengaluru.

The Indian international will join the team for the practice session at the Wankhede Stadium as they begin their preparation for the next home game against Delhi, an afternoon fixture scheduled on April 7. The team management will take a call on his participation in the game based on his input in the net session.

Mumbai hasn’t enjoyed the best of starts this season, having lost all three of their matches so far . Skipper Hardik Pandya has been under the firing line after back to back losses in Gujarat, Hyderabad and Rajasthan.
