Suryakumar Yadav ruled out of Ind T20 League 2022

Things turn from bad to worse for Mumbai as their star batter Suryakumar Yadav is set to miss out the remainder of the Ind T20 League 2022 due to a left forearm muscle injury he suffered in the clash against Gujarat on May 6. The franchise is yet to name a replacement for the prolific run getter.

Mumbai are currently languishing at the bottom of the table with only two wins to their name. Suryakumar Yadav was among the few positives of the 2022 campaign for the five time champions. The 31 year old amassed 303 runs in 8 games at a staggering average of 43.29.

The champion batter notched up three half centuries and is the second highest run scorer for the franchise. He missed Mumbai’s initial fixtures as he was recovering from a hand injury.

Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised to rest, in consultation with the Indian Cricket Team medical team," the franchise said in a statement.

Mumbai had a unforgettable start to their Ind T20 League 2022 campaign after suffering 8 losses on the bounce. They however have won two on the trot but have been eliminated from the race to the playoffs.
