The Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023 is catching its thrill as there will be another breathtaking clash for booking the final birth alongside the Lyca Kovai Kings. Dindigul Dragons and Nellai Royal Kings will cross swords for the Qualifier 2 of the Southern tournament. The game is scheduled to be played on Monday, July 10 at the Indian Cement Company Ground, Tirunelveli.

A shroud of disappointment covered the Dindigul Dragons after their unfortunate defeat against the Lyca Kovai Kings in the 1st Qualifier. The defeat relegated them to play the 2nd Qualifier against the winner of the Eliminator to retry getting a slot in the grand finale. Subodh Bhati proved his excellence with the ball picking up a five-wicket haul in the first qualifier match and C Sarath Kumar’s compelling effort with the bat (62 off 26 balls) highlighted the team’s strength and fighting spirit despite felling short by 30 runs while chasing 193.

On the other hand, The Nellai Royal Kings paved their way through a blood-chilling Eliminator against the Siechem Madhurai Panthers and kept their hopes alive to get hold of the coveted trophy. Some of the mentionable performances came from Nidhish Rajagopal (76) and Ajitesh Guruswamy (50) on which the team’s total ended at a massive 211 runs. Later an unwavering effort from the bowling side bought them a narrow four runs win in a match which we can call a true cricket thriller.

Pitch Report

DD has a much more efficient batting lineup than NRK. But while we consider the Royal Kings’ bowling attack it will definitely matter if they can pick early wickets, and keep up the rhythm restricting them to a low-scoring total. The Dragons will face problems if they lose early wickets as they don’t have reliable batters, lower down the order. So in spite of many similarities in the power of both teams, NRK have a slight edge and this is why we expect them to win the game and cruise to the finals of the Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023.
