The T20 drama returns in the grandest stage of them all!

The t20 World Series returns after five long years since Ian Bishop’s, ‘remember the name’ after Carlos Braithwaite hit four consecutive sixes to win their second t20 World Series title in 2016. Since then a lot of things have changed. T20 cricket gained a lot of momentum and almost every country has their own league through which many cricketers are getting that exposure and experience that they deserve. However, one thing that didn’t change at all is the excitement among all the fans.

India was scheduled to host this year’s t20 World Series. However, because of the covid situation in the country, the board decided to organize in UAE and Oman. Eight of the nations have already qualified while six teams are fighting for a spot in the Super 12. India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, South Africa and England have already qualified while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Oman, Namibia and Netherlands will have to make it through the qualifiers.

There are certain players that the entire world will keep an eye on. Specially, all the Indian t20 league franchises who know that the mega auction for next year may happen as soon as in January. Thus, players would also want to give their everything to be a part of this cash-rich league. Australia’s David Warner will have a thing or two to prove after how the Hyderabad based franchise treated him recently. He needs to show that he still very much belongs to the game and create a massive difference like he’s known for.

New Zealand will also look to end their drought in white ball cricket. Every time, the black caps come close but fail to go the distance. After winning the maiden world test series, they would hope to repeat something similar this time. Captain Kane Williamson is a smart cricketer and knows how to use his troops. Thus, expect the unexpected from this team.

England is once again the favorites to win the championship along with Australia and India. Three lions may not have all their best players lined up because of injuries but still with the kind of players they have, they can definitely dream to win the gold.

South Africa and the West Indies team are facing a lot of criticism lately. The exclusion of Faf Du Plessis, who was the second highest run scorer of Indian t20 League raised a lot of questions. The board also failed to bring AB De Villiers on board. Something that the entire world thought was possible. Their bowling line-up however is perfect and they have the potential to cause an upset but winning the trophy may not happen with the kind of batters they have.

West Indies on the other hand are a team who can do everything on the pitch. They are known for their hard hitting game and this year things won’t be any different. The exclusion of Sunil Narine created a controversy. Specially, how he played for the Kolkata franchise lately. This may not hamper the Caribbean’s as they know how to deal with these kinds of situations.

After England and New Zealand cancelled their tour to Pakistan, the board and the team was furious and may lash everything out on the pitch. It’s safe to say that they are coming for the trophy. If their batsmen support their bowlers well, things can actually work out for them. They can also be called the Dark Horse of the tournament as well as the most unpredictable team.

A lot of things happened in Afghanistan after they last played a game. Their players will be under a lot of pressure and stress but the boys will be ready to give everything on the pitch to prove a point. Rashid Khan will be crucial for the side along with Mohammed Nabi.

Coming to India, the side is well balanced this time. The exclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal raised few concerns but Captain Kohli backed Rahul Chahar and said that there are certain plans behind it. Everything else is more or less perfect for the team and Virat Kohli should dream of winning his first world title after a lot of misfortunes.
