This cricketer says sorry for leaving out MS Dhoni from his all-time India XI

Indian veteran wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik has stated that he mistakenly left out MS Dhoni out of his All-time Team India XI and later apologised to the fans for the wrong deed. The veteran cricketer turned commentator picked his Best XI on August 15 with no specialist wicket-keeper.

Yet, it was inferred that Karthik wanted another Indian legend Rahul Dravid to don the gloves as he did during his cricketing days.

In the meantime, Karthik clarified that not choosing Dhoni was a huge mistake.

“I made a mistake as I forgot the wicket-keeper while selecting the team. Rahul Dravid was there, and fans thought I wanted a part-time wicketkeeper. I am a wicket-keeper myself but failed to pick one in my team. It was a blunder,” DK said.

Karthik also praised Dhoni and expressed that he would feature in any all-time XI.

“Dhoni would be there in any team. He is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game. If I had to make one change in my team, I would include Dhoni at number 7. He will be the captain of any Indian team,” he added.

Dinesh Karthik once again forgot to state that he would remove to find a slot for MS Dhoni in the team. Dhoni accumulated over 17,000 runs at an average of 45 and was responsible for 829 dismissals as a wicket-keeper. Karthik was always the second-choice keeper behind MS Dhoni during his cricketing career. He starred in only a few matches during the Dhoni era.

Karthik was the leader of the pack while Team India won the T20 WC 2007, Cricket WC 2011 and the Champions Series 2013.

Dinesh Karthik’s All-time India XI:

Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Anil Kumble, Jasprit Bumrah, Zaheer Khan
