England skipper Ben Stokes suffers hamstring injury

The 33-year-old England Test Skipper Ben Stokes who was playing for Northern Superchargers in 'The Hundred Men’s 2024 tournament, suffered a serious injury. Stokes' injury was so serious that he had to retire from batting and leave the field hurt. He did not walk off the field himself but had to take support to leave the field. Stokes' injury can prove to be a big setback for England. The three Lions have to play a three-match Test series against Sri Lanka from August 21. 

Stokes has been serving England in the red ball as a skipper for a long time now. In case, he faces a serious injury, England may face big setback in the Test series against Sri Lanka. Stokes suffered a hamstring injury while playing against Manchester Originals in match 27 of the Hundred’s Men competition on Sunday. The 2019 ODI World Series winner architect Ben Stokes, was seen limping and left the field with crutches while shaking his head in agony.

May miss the first test against Sri Lanka 

According to media reports, Stokes had to undergo a scan on Monday. It is being said that Stokes may miss the first match of the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka. However, no official information has been revealed about this yet. Now it will be interesting to see whether the English all-rounder can take part in the Test series against Sri Lanka or not. England is currently placed at the sixth spot in the World Test Series with 36.64 points, in such case this series is going to be crucial for Hosts England who will be hoping Stokes to be back in time for this test series.

Problem after taking the run 

After taking a fast run, Stokes was seen in pain. As soon as he completed the run, the Southpaw started stumbling and he was seen being carried in his legs. After this, Stokes went out of the field with support, he could face only 4 balls, after which he had to go out. "It doesn't look great, unfortunately. I think he'll be getting a scan tomorrow and we'll see how he is," said Northern Superchargers skipper Harry Brook.
