Umran Malik and Mohammad Siraj out of Duleep Trophy with illness

Mohammad Siraj and Umran Malik would not be participating in the first round of the forthcoming Duleep Trophy as they are ill and aren’t expected to be fit in time for the start of the tournament, the Indian Cricket Board stated via a release on Tuesday.

Ace all rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also been released from the Team B squad, the reason for which wasn’t disclosed by the Indian Cricket Board.

Fast bowler Navdeep Saini will replace Siraj in the Team B squad while Gaurav Yadav has been called in the place of Malik in Team C. Meanwhile, the involvement of Nitish Reddy, who is also a member of Team B, is subject to fitness. Nitish was recently named in India’s squad for the Zimbabwe series but had to be called back as he was suffering from sports hernia.
