Victor Osimhen has requested a special release clause

25-year-old Victor Osimhen has requested a special release clause as part of his deal with Galatasaray that would allow him to join Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool in the January transfer window.

EPL side the Blues opened talks with Italian side Napoli and Osimhen in the closing stages of the summer transfer window last week but were unable to reach an agreement to sign the player.

The Nigerian striker Osimhen has now opted to join Galatasaray on loan for the remainder of the season with the Turkish champions agreeing to pay the player's wages, which are worth around €210K per week. The 25-year-old athletic forward was welcomed by Galatasaray supporters after arriving in Istanbul in the early hours of Tuesday(3rd Sep) to complete a medical and complete his transfer.

Osimhen had delayed a move to the Premier League after rejecting the chance to join Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli, whose €80 million bid was accepted by Napoli last month. According to reports in Türkiye, Osimhen is still open to a move to a Premier League club in the January transfer window. As per reports Osimhen requested in his negotiations with the Lions that his loan deal could be terminated in January if Napoli received an offer from one of the 10 clubs they had shortlisted. The report adds that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are among the teams on Osimhen's shortlist.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reports that Osimhen's release clause with Napoli has been reduced to €75 million, while the Italian club have the option to extend the forward's contract until 2027 if he is not sold next summer. As part of their deal with Napoli, Galatasaray do not have an option to buy Osimhen at the end of the season.

Osimhen has been trying to leave Napoli since the start of the summer and has been left out of every pre-season game by coach Antonio Conte.
