Virat Kohli ends his five years Test Hundred drought with a stunner at the Port of Spain

Virat Kohli registered his 29th Test century at the Port of Spain on Friday against West Indies in the 2nd Day of the Second Test of the World Test Series 2023-24.

The Indian Run Machine resumed on 87 runs at the beginning of Day 2 and completed an undisputed ton to take his total tally of Test hundred on the level with Sir Donald Bradman.

Kohli was in sublime touch in the last Test too but fell short of 24 runs, missing his well-deserved century. He went on to carry his form in the second Test and smashed some picture-perfect shots to record his century.

This Test was also special for him as he was marking his 500th International appearance for India and he was totally in control of himself throughout the innings.

Kohli last recorded four away hundreds in 2018, since then he had to wait almost five years before getting his 29 Test century outside India.

This was his second ton in the Caribbean mainland, the first was a double century back in the year 2016 in North Sound.

Now with, 29 Test Hundreds under his belt, Kohli went past the Kiwis' ex-skipper Kane Williamson who has a total of 28 tons and now has the third most Test Centuries among active cricketers after Australia’s Steve Smith (32) and England’s Joe Root (30).
