Bangladesh will square off with South Africa in the 21st match of the World T20 League 2024. The match is scheduled to be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Monday, June 10.

A win in this match would be a big relief for Bangladesh as they are in the Group of Death alongside other contenders like Sri Lanka, Nepal and the Netherlands.

The Proteas won two matches on the trot but their batting side still now looks shaky not able to put up big runs on the scoreboard. Their bowling arsenal on the other side is seemingly one of the best in this World T20 League so far. They have been consistent in restricting the opponents to below-par targets so far. 

Ottneil Baartman and Anrich Nortje have been in sublime touch while David Miller stole the show in New York against the Netherlands where South Africa faced a tough challenge against the Flying Dutchmen. 

The Bangla Tigers led by Najmul Hossain Shanto started off robustly against their arch-rivals Sri Lanka. Yet their batting side needs motivation, skipper Shanto along with star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan needs to live up to their expectations in order to lift up the morale of their side.

The pace suits the NYC pitch and Bangladesh may bring in Shoriful Islam as an extra fast bowling option in New York. As a replacement, Soumya Sarkar may have to be rested as the Bangla Tigers already have plenty of other batting options in their playing XI.
