It's time for the co-hosts United States of America(USA) and West Indies(WI) to lock horns in match 46 of the Men's T20 World League 2024 on Saturday(22nd June). This Super 8 match is scheduled to take place at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

The Caribbean side WI was stunned by England(ENG) in their last fixture, and they suffered an 8-wicket loss against the defending Champions. While batting first on a good track at Gros Islet, WI was restricted to 180-4 in their 20 overs, ENG then got to the target with 15 balls to spare. This defeat must be a wake-up call for WI, who had won all their games before the Super 8 stage. Rovman Powell-led Men in Maroon could have done more with the bat and their seamers were all over the place with their lines and lengths. 

On the other hand, United States(USA) have reached the Super 8s in emphatic fashion, surprising everyone in the cricketing world. However, Aaron Jones-led USA's journey from here on in will be challenging. USA lost their first Super 8 game to South Africa(SA) at North Sound by 18 runs. While chasing the target of 195 runs, USA needed 28 off the last 12 balls, but some tight bowling by Rabada and Nortje sealed the game for their side. Nevertheless, the USA has a lot of positives to take forward. For starters, Andries Gous’s unbeaten knock of 80 from 47 balls against the Proteas will give the team a lot of confidence. The right-handed batter is a hard hitter of the ball and can take on the WI pacers on Saturday.

Then there’s skipper Jones, who’s had a few quiet matches. He has to play a big knock which we believe is just around the corner and this might just well be his chance to shine. 

USA and WI are yet to play in any format of the game. This is the very first T20I between the USA and the West Indies. The North American side will play against a top nation in international cricket for the very first time. It will be interesting how the United States handles the challenge.
