Co-hosts West Indies will clash against New Zealand in the 26th match of the World T20 League 2024 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, on Thursday, June 13. 

The Rovman Powell-led side won their first two successive matches of the marquee event against Papua New Guinea and Uganda at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. In the match against PNG, Powell and his boys restricted the opposition to 136 runs at a loss of 8 wickets and later chased down the target by five wickets and one over to spare. In the follow-up match against Uganda, the Caribbean side posted 173 runs and later the bowling efforts from Akeal Hosein who took a 5-wicket haul and assisted his side to a monumental victory of 134 runs.

On the other side, the Blackcaps suffered a huge defeat at the hands of Afghanistan by a huge margin of 84 runs. They failed to chase a mere target of 160 runs and will surely be low on confidence.

The Caribbean side has registered two wins in two games so far. But the thing is these victories have come against small teams. This time they will face a strong trophy contender. On the contrary, the Blackcaps have a terrific record in T20Is against the co-hosts. In the previous 10 T20I games, New Zealand has managed 8 victories against the hosts.
