Wriddhiman Saha confirms homecoming in domestic cricket

Veteran Indian wicketkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha has resolved his differences with the Bengal Cricket Association and will represent the state in domestic cricket. Saha left the side two years back due to his unpleasant stint with the senior officials of the state body.

“I was in touch with the CAB officials despite leaving the state team. I was unhappy with a few things,” Wriddhiman Saha informed reporters at Eden Gardens on Monday evening.

The news of his homecoming was in the air for some time.

When asked about Sourav Ganguly’s role in his return, Saha replied diplomatically.

“Dada (Sourav Ganguly) Snehasish da and Naresh sir are associated with the Cricket Association of Bengal. You can’t go to just one person as any organisation is run by many individuals. If I express my interest to one person, others will also get to know,” he stated.

Saha also made it clear that once he decides, he will do it for all the formats.

“If I quit, I will quit from all the formats. I am not thinking long-term. My focus is on the upcoming Ranji Trophy season and the white-ball tournaments. My body is ageing and I will assess the situation at the end of the season,” he concluded.
