Yashasvi Jaiswal speaks up on his learnings from skipper Rohit Sharma
Team India's opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal likes to bat with skipper Rohit Sharma, calling it an exciting experience and also disclosing the learnings he acquired from the Indian hardhitter. The dynamic youngster debuted for India in July last year and has become one of the most crucial players in the longest format of the game.
He accumulated more than 1000 runs in nine games at an average of 68.53 with three centuries. The 22-year-old is a part of Team B in the Duleep Trophy 2024.
“It has been an incredible experience to open the innings with Rohit Sharma. He always shares his experience with me and understands different wickets. Rohit is always spot on and there are a lot of things to learn from him. You can adjust your batting on bouncy and turning tracks by looking at how Rohit Sharma bats. You can also change your wicket in case of fall of early wickets,” Yashasvi Jaiswal told the reporters.
“I play according to scenarios and change my approach for the team. It also depends on the situation. I think these things have played a big role in my career in the last one year.
“When I was playing domestic matches, I was not aware of these important aspects of the game. But since I have started playing international cricket, my reading of the game has improved. I want to keep learning,” he added.
The Southpaw has done well in T20Is, scoring runs at a strike rate of 164.31. He was also a part of the Indian squad that won the T20 WC 2024.
