Yograj Singh Takes a Dig at This Legendary Indian Skipper
Yograj Singh, the father of ex-legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has once again come into the limelight due to his controversial remarks. After he remarked on MS Dhoni, Yograj charged India’s first World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev. Previously Yograj accused MS Dhoni of destroying Yuvraj’s international career, claiming that his son could have been a part of the Indian cricket team for another 4-5 years if the Indian skipper would have backed him.
In his conversation with the media, Yograj took a jab at Kapil Dev, the 1983 World Cup-winning skipper. He doesn’t enjoy a good bond with Kapil, according to him, the latter was behind his exclusion from the National side in 1981.
The feud between Yograj and Kapil has been for a long time. In the year 2017, he said that when Yuvraj was born, it was decided that he would make his son an ideal all-rounder to take revenge for the injustice he had faced.
His latest dig on the 1983 WC captain said that Yuvraj has won 13 major trophies in his career, while Kapil has just one World Cup under his belt.
“I had told Kapil that I would leave you in a position where the entire world would curse you. Yuvraj has 13 trophies, and you just have one World Cup to show,” Yograj Singh said.
He also expressed his anger on MS Dhoni and said that he would never forgive him.
“MS Dhoni should look in the mirror. He destroyed my son’s career, and I won’t forgive him. I have never forgotten those who have worked against me, be it my family members or my kids,” he expressed.
Yuvraj Singh retired from International cricket in 2019 and has since been in service of young cricketers. One of his most successful students includes Abhishek Sharma, who has also credited him for his success in the Indian T20 League.
