Real Madrid held Man City 3-3 in a six-goal thriller

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was not too disappointed with his team's draw against Manchester City on Tuesday(09th April 2024). The Host Madrid considered the 3-3 draw a fair result at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 13th time UCL winners Real Madrid hosted Manchester City in the first leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League quarter-finals.

In this match, the match ended fiercely from the start as a result, this match ended in a six-match thriller. Ancelotti admitted that he was not too disappointed with this draw. "It was a very even match," the 64-year-old Italian manager told in an interview. According to Ancelotti, both teams have played at the highest level since the match started.

As a result, he considered this stalemate a fair outcome because both teams had fought hard since the start of the match. "I think both teams competed at the highest level in that match and this draw was difficult to achieve," continued Ancelotti. Madrid’s head coach admitted that he wanted his team to win this match however, he could accept a draw in that match. "Yes, we want to win that match to prepare for the second leg. However, I think we are quite satisfied with tonight's draw," continued Ancelotti.

"We competed very well, and if we do the same next week, then I'm sure we can qualify," he emphasized. Before playing the second leg at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City will play one more match this weekend against Luton. On the other hand, Los Blancos are scheduled to visit Real Mallorca's home ground on Saturday(13th April 2024).
