Jasprit Bumrah to lead in the 5th test against England!

Even though it’s not official yet but Jasprit Bumrah is all set to lead the Indian red ball squad after Rohit Sharma has been infected by Covid-19 and will miss the all important match. The pace spearhead of the Indian team was appointed as the deputy of Rohit Sharma after Virat Kohli stepped down from captaincy following the South Africa series. Now, the question arises whether Bumrah is the perfect man for the situation or not as the 28-year-old has no experience of leading his side in International or domestic cricket. This will be a new opportunity for him but is it the right time for him especially in this very important match?

Time will tell how Bumrah leads but the pacer will definitely create history. After Pat Cummins, Bumrah will become another pacer who will be leading the team. The player from Gujarat will also become the first pacer after Kapil Dev to lead the Indian side. It indeed will be a proud moment for him and his family.

Rohit, who will miss the 5th test because of Covid, has been replaced by Mayank Agarwal in the side. The tested opener is likely to start the match alongside Shubman Gill but KS Bharat has done well in the practice match. Thus, captain Bumrah and coach Rahul Dravid have a tough decision on their hands ahead of the final test of the pending test series.
