Team Australia is concerned about touring Sri Lanka amidst civil unrest!

According to several reports, Team Australia has raised an issue before travelling to Sri Lanka. The situation in Lanka is pretty intense and a significant amount of people are hitting the streets with the rise of poverty in the country. Thus, hosting a high-profile nation at such a crucial junction might not be ideal for the nation. The Australian players are worried as well as the situation is far from getting any better.

The country is in the middle of an economic crisis and thus hosting Australia can bring them loads of money but what about the safety? In spite of such a serious situation, the CEO of Australian board, Todd Greenberg gave the green light a week back that the team will travel and play a full series in the island. Things changed now as Todd went up to say, “It's fair to say there is a level of discomfort around touring in conditions that contrast those faced by the people of Sri Lanka, such as rising food prices, power cuts and fuel rationing”.

He further added, “Ultimately our players want to continue to play cricket and will take direction, guidance and advice from CA about tour arrangements and planning”.

The Australian team is supposed to play a T20 series, five One Day Internationals and a couple of test matches in the months of June and July.
