The England Women’s Cricket Team won the opener against the visitors in the three-match ODI series. The hosts chased down South Africa’s total score of 218 with almost 18 overs to spare and five wickets in hand. England’s victory was driven by opener Emma Lamb’s magnificent ODI century and Nat Sciver’s feisty all-round display.

South Africa on the other hand, will be mulling over the poor batting by their top-order batters as they were staggering at 108/5. Later they only managed to reach a respectable score of 218/5 after a 98run partnership between two lower-order batters namely Chloe Tyron and Nadine de Klerk. Tyron was deprived of a well-deserved century as he was dismissed by a quick delivery for 73 runs in 88 balls.
