England Women eased past the visitors to go 1-0 up in the three match series. The penultimate fixture of this contest will be played at New Road, Worcester on Saturday, July 23. The hosts started the series with a resounding win. Batting first SA-W could only muster 111 runs in their quota of 20 overs. K Brunt wrecked havoc with ball in hand, picking 4 crucial wickets to restrict the Proteas to a below par total. Sophia Dunkley then anchored the chase with a calculative half century and took her team home. 

England Women have been proficient in all three departments. Batting looks in great shape with the likes of Sophie Dunkley and Heather Knight in the ranks. In the bowling prowess K Brunt and Sophie Eccelestone will hold the key. Ahead of the second game, the hosts will be raring to go for the kill and gain an unassailable 2-0 lead.

The proteas have had a torrid tour thus far. They were humbled in the ODIs and continued to face the similar fate in the opening T20I. Batting is one department, the visitors need to put a lot of work in. Apart from Laura Volvaardt none of the other batters looked comfortable during their stay at the crease in the series opener. The batters need to fire in all cylinders to take the game closer. Their bowlers have done well in patches. Ayabonga Khaka and Delmi Tucker will be the bowlers to watch out for.
