Harry Kane to Manchester United?
Man Utd could still land Harry Kane
Manchester United have been boosted they could still acquire the services of ace forward Harry Kane because of a belief the 29 year old will have to part ways with Spurs this summer.
Club owner Joe Lewis has told chairman Daniel Levy that he is not ready to let Kane leave the club as a free agent next summer and the England skipper will either pen down a new contract or move this transfer window.
As per sources, Kane, who has only a year left on his deal, has already decided not to extend his contract.
A Man Utd move is still viewed as highly unlikely given the Red Devils are already in talks with Atlanta’s Rasmus Hojlund and Frankfurt’s Randal Kolio Muani
Tottenham have declined two bids from Bayern Munich, but the English international remains their top summer target.
According to sources United will not go beyond the £100 million mark to get Kane. While there are concerns Kane’s wage demands could be proscriptive, they are assessing the situation knowing that Levy will have to consider offers.
Despite the struggles of doing a deal with Tottenham, who would rather move Kane abroad if he leaves, he’s manager Erik Ten Haag’s first choice.
Ten Hag is on the lookout for a striker and is aching to sign a proper forward before the deadline, but after the signing of Mason Mount and Andre Onana is now handcuffed by the budget constraints.
United’s 2-0 preseason win over Arsenal on Saturday highlighted their striker shortage as they deployed winger Jason Sancho in the number 9 role.
Sancho got on the scoresheet, but it's seen by Ten Hag as vital that a new forward arrives before the start of the season.
Anthony Martial has travelled with the squad to the US but is not yet entirely fit to train with the team.
Martial sat out the FA Cup final in June due to a hamstring injury and will most likely be fit to train with the remainder of the squad on Sunday.
