Ibrahimovic is not sure that Ten Hag is the right person to lead MU
Zlatan Ibrahimovic expresses his views on Erik Ten Hag
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not too sure that Erik Ten Hag is the right person to lead Manchester United. According to Ibrahimovic, managing Ajax Amsterdam and the Red Devils is very different. Ten Hag succeeded in bringing Ajax Amsterdam to three Eredivisie titles and several other trophies. Manchester United then recruited him in the summer of 2022.
Under the guidance of Ten Hag, Manchester United achieved positive results last season. They won the Carabao Cup and finished third in the Premier League so they got a ticket to the Champions League. This season, Manchester United has had a bad start. Marcus Rashford and his colleagues have lost five of their nine matches.
Ibrahimovic is not convinced that Ten Hag is the right person to lead Manchester United. According to him, dealing with Ajax and MU is very different. “Coming from Ajax to Manchester United like he did is a big difference. I have been to both clubs. You have a different type of discipline," Ibrahimovic told TalkTV. “Ajax is a talented club. They have the best talent at the club. They don't have any big stars. What is this trainer's experience? Young talents, he comes to United, it's a different mentality.
“The players there are supposed to be big stars. I don't think you can give the same treatment." Due to a series of bad results, Ten Hag's position as Manchester United manager began to be shaken. Ibrahimovic demands Ten Hag to bring the Red Devils back to winning ways to keep his job.
"How much time do you give the coach?" he continued. "It depends on the owners, what they want, but if you listen to the fans, you don't have much time because they want to win, and I understand them because they are used to winning and they want to keep winning."
