India announces squad for Australia tour and T20 World Series 2022

Harshal Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah added to the setup for India’s 15-member squad for the forthcoming Australia tour and the T20 World Cup 2022. The Rohit Sharma-led squad will miss the services of ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has recently undergone surgery for an injury in his right knee during Asia T20 in Dubai and is currently under medical supervision. Axar Patel has been the candidate to fulfil his spot in the team.

After a torrid time in the Asia T20, the Indian Cricket Board has played safe by not taking any risky calls. Infact, they went with almost the same squad for the upcoming marquee event. Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami who are among the reserves for the tournament will also feature against Australia in a three-match T20I series just before the T20 World Series 2022.

India squad for ICC T20 World Cup:

Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul (vc), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.

Standby players:

Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.
