2nd Qualifier: GG vs MIE

And we are here with the 2nd Qualifier of the Inaugural edition of the International T20 League, which will be played between GG and MIE on Friday, 10th February 2023 at 07:30 PM IST in Dubai International Cricket Stadium. GG has a fantastic group stage where they finished on top with 7 wins in 10 games, while MIE was in the third with 5 wins. Although GG lost the first qualifier against the DV by 19 Runs, they got another chance as they finished on the top. In contrast, MIE eliminated the DC in the Eliminator game by 8 wickets spare. 

GG has a solid batting lineup. The top 4 of the team, including Vince, Lynn, Hetmyer, and Grandhomme, are looking in robust form. In the lower order, Tom Curran and Carlos Brathwaite give depth in the batting with massive hits. They also provide support as an all-rounder. The Bowling of the GG has been their critical point in this league. In the qualifier against DC, only Sanchit Sharma and Colin De Grandhomme were wicketless. Every other bowler has picked one wicket, while Jordan ends with the figures of 4-40-3.

On the other hand, after beating DC by eight wickets with twenty balls left (all thanks to Andre Fletcher’s 68 and Pooran's 66), MIE has sky-high confidence. MIE has a star-studded batting lineup, including Windies powerhouse Fletcher, Pooran, Pollard, and Bravo. These batters are capable of turning any game within a few balls. In addition, MIE has Kiwi’s Pace battery Trent Boult, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Star spinner Rashid Khan on the bowling side. Captain Pollard will hope to get some extra efforts from the bowlers today to restrict a strong batting lineup of GG.

MIE has won three out of five games, but they haven't defeated GG in the group stage. Meanwhile, GG was unbeaten in the last five matches before their previous game against DV. Watching between these two Star-loaded sides will be a mouthwatering Qualifier.
