Jadon Sancho to train away from first team amid Ten Hag row
Jadon Sancho banished from Manchester United
Jadon Sancho would be training away from the first team of Manchester United amid his public spat with boss Erik Ten Hag, the club announced Thursday
In a statement issued by statement, Sancho won’t train with the squad but train separately pending resolution of a squad discipline issue after the English forward openly challenged Ten Hag’s reason for dropping him for the 3-1 loss at Emirates .
Sancho will not be picked in the squad for Saturday’s game against Brighton, and no time frame is defined for his return.
A club statement read: “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group pending resolution of a squad discipline issue."
Sancho has been punished for taking a jibe at the manager and club after Ten Hag said in the post match interview that the 23 year old was not selected for the game prior to the international break because of substandard performances in training.
Ten Hag’s post match comments were marked out “completely untrue” by Sancho in a X (Twitter) post
The winger, who returned at Carrington on Monday, finally took down the post on Tuesday, nearly a week after it had been posted. Sancho’s decision to delete the post has been seen as a positive step, according to sources close to the club.
The decision to make Sancho unavailable for Saturday’s clash will further limit Ten Hag’s alternatives against Brighton.
The United boss will also be without Brazil international Antony, who has been axed from the squad amid abuse allegations made by three women.
Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Raphael Varane and Tyrell Malacia all missed the game against Arsenal through injury, and latest signing Sofyan Amrabat travelled back home from international duty citing a back problem.
