Jasprit Bumrah likely to miss the Indian T20 League and the Test World Championship final

Indian prime speedster Jasprit Bumrah has the chance of missing the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023 season and also the Test World Championship final. As reported on Sunday, the Gujarat-based cricketer missed marquee events like the Asia Championship and the T20 World Championship last year and is likely to miss some more big tournaments in the coming months as he is in the stage of recovery from his back injury.

The 29 years old is also not part of the Indian cricket Team which is currently playing in the Border Gavaskar Trophy where India holds an unassailable lead of 2-0 with two more matches to go. His name is also not announced for the third and fourth matches which somewhat confirms his unavailability. Bumrah was earlier also not selected for the Test series against Australia s National Cricket Academy where he is young through his recovery denied to give him clearance for International cricket matches.

According to the latest report, Bumrah’s problem is more serious than what was thought before and hence would keep him out of action for the upcoming tournaments. The Indian Cricket Council is now looking forward to make the pacer fit for the ODI World Championship that will be played in India later in October-November

The previous plan of the team was to bring back Bumrah into action in the Indian T20 League, but now the Indian Cricket Board, NCA and Team India management are working on a different idea for his return to the cricketing circuit.

The star pacer suffered a lower stress fracture after the England tour in July 2022. He made a comeback in September during the T20I series against Australia, which was played at home but suffered a back injury again and has been ruled out of action since then.

Bumrah’s absence will be a huge shock for the Mumbai franchise who would start their 2023 season of the league on 2nd April with a match against the Bangalore franchise.
