Jay Shah has been appointed to chair the International Cricket Board's powerful Finance and 

Commercial Affairs Committee

At a board meeting when Greg Barclay was overwhelmingly re-elected as  International Cricket Board chairman for another two years, Indian Cricket Board  Secretary Jay Shah was voted as the head of the  International Cricket Board's powerful Finance and Commercial Affairs committee.

"Jay was unanimously elected as the chairman of the F&CA committee. Apart from the  International Cricket Board chair (Greg Barclay), this is an equally influential subcommittee "On condition of anonymity, an  International Cricket Board source told PTI.

 How Strong Is the Position?

It involves income sharing among member countries as well as the many big sponsorship deals signed by the global organisation during the year. The F&CA committee is always led by an  International Cricket Board Board member, and Shah's appointment ensures that the Indian Cricket Board  will be represented on the  International Cricket Board Board.

During the N Srinivasan period, India had the F&CA head post, however during Shashank Manohar's stint as  International Cricket Board chairman, the Indian Cricket Board 's authority may have been considerably decreased.
