Kagiso Rabada ruled out of Ireland T20Is

Kagiso Rabada is set to miss two T20Is against Ireland in August. The two games will be played in Bristol. Rabada was ruled out “ following a review of left medial ankle injury” as per an official CSA statement.

South Africa rested their frontline pacer for the ODI series against England in July to manage his workload properly ahead of the T20 World Series. He made a return to the T20I setup wherein he picked only one wicket in the two games he played. He was then replaced by Anrich Nortje in the third and final game.

After the two T20I on August 3 and 5, SA will look to continue their dream run at the top of the Test championship table with a three match test series, starting on August 17. The focus for the team management, thus, is to evaluate Rabada in the lead up to those matches.

"He [Rabada] will continue medical management and rehabilitation and his progress will be closely monitored in preparation for the upcoming three-match Test series against England later this month," the statement read.
