The Citizens thrash Real Madrid by 4-0 to seal UCL final berth

Manchester City and Inter Milan will animate the tournament’s grand final next month in the UCL 2022-23. The top two teams in the competition will seek to raise UCL and thus be crowned the new champions. The Citizens left the way for Real Madrid, current champions, after a 4-0 win at Etihad and a 5-1 aggregate score on Wednesday night. On the other hand, City saved the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in the first duel, held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. 

The Brazilian Vinicius Junior put Los Blancs ahead, but the Belgian Kevin De Bruyne equalized. In the second leg, the Etihad Stadium weighed, since the English crushed the Spanish 4-0(5-1) overall, thanks to a double from the Portuguese Bernardo Silva and goals from the Swiss Manuel Akanji and the Argentine Julián Álvarez.

For their part, The Nerazzurri first clinched their ticket to the grand final by beating their bitter rival AC Milan. Both in the First Leg and in the return fixture at home. In the first match, the Bosnian Edin Dzeko and the Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan made it 0-2 at the Giuseppe Meazza, while in the second half, the Argentine Lautaro Martínez sealed the 3-0 overall. Now English and Italian sides are waiting for the duel that will lead them to be the best in Europe.

After eliminating Real Madrid and AC Milan respectively, both sides await the most important day of the season. The 2022/23 Champions League final promises to bring the world to a standstill, with glory reserved for just one of the two title contenders. The mega showdown is scheduled to take place on June 10 from Atatürk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul with more than 76 thousand souls waiting for the glory of their team.

Man City will seek to achieve the first UCL title in their history, which they were close to achieving in the 2020/21 season. For their part, the Nerazzurri will try to get it back on track after a drought that has lasted since the 2009/10 campaign.
