Man Utd will take on Barca in the Round of 32 of the Europa League

Another big clash awaits between the two giant clubs from Spain and England, as Man Utd will take on Barcelona in the return fixture of round 32 of the Europa League on Friday, 24th February at 01:30 AM IST. The two powerhouses set to meet at Old Trafford. What was already promised to be a great game for the Europa League Round of 16 Playoffs ended up exceeding even those high expectations. Barca and United staged an exciting duel, which ended 2-2, but which could easily have several more goals from each side.

The first half had already left several clear situations for both, but the goals came in the second half. With goals from Marcos Alonso and Raphinha for the blaugranas and from Marcus Rashford and Jules Koundé into an own goal for the Red Devils.

In the 50th minute, Marcos Alonso headed in a corner kick served by Raphinha. But, just two minutes later, Rashford equalized the match by entering the Barcelona area from the right side and beating Ter Stegen from below.

At 59', United made it 1-2 when Koundé entered the ball into his goal. Barcelona reacted and, on 76', equalized the game with a cross from Raphinha that was poisoned and that, the fact that Robert Lewandowski did not finish it off, left De Gea lying down.

United are hoping home advantage will be crucial, but Barcelona are unbeaten in all competitions for more than four months. The Red Devils are unbeaten at home under Ten Hag since a 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad in the group stage on September 8 last year, and they will see their chances of having enough to finish the European challenge of Barcelona at home.

After having finished third in Group C of the main European competition at the club level with 7 points, a total of 2 wins both against Viktoria Plzen, a draw with Inter at home and 3 losses both duels against Bayern and the visit in Italy, Barca lands in a tournament that, although it saw them participate on a few occasions, they never won.

The Red Devils, led by Erik ten Hag, come to this stage after finishing second in Group E with 15 points, the product of 5 consecutive wins both duels with Sheriff and Omonia Nicosia and against Real Society in Spain and a defeat in the debut in San Sebastián.

Probable Playing XI:

Man United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martínez, Shaw; Casemiro, Sabitzer; Fernandes, Weghorst, Sancho; Rashford

Barca: Ter Stegen; Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Balde; De Jong, Busquets, Roberto; Raphinha, Lewandowski, Ferran
